I hope everyone is enjoying all that summer in Michigan has to offer- beaches, parks, berry-picking, festivals, etc. As the costs of gas continue to rise, I know many of us have sought ways to cut down on energy bills. Below are some tips from Save on Gas and Save on Cooling Costs on ways to save on gas and energy bills.
Save on gas:
1. Car maintenance 2. Gas shopping 3. Driving 4. Other good habits
Twelve ways to cut cooling costs:
1. Use a programmable thermostat. 2. Enjoy more summer fare. 3. Insulate your attic door. 4. Low-tech, low-cost savings 5. Use ceiling fans. 6. Create an outside oasis. 7. Replace old air conditioning units. 8. Opt for energy-efficient appliances. 9. Plant a few trees. 10. Support your local parks. 11. Consider solar solutions. 12. Go online.
Make sure to check out some of the fun activities that PANC has planned in July and August; there's something for everyone! If you have any ideas for future activities, please contact myself, Shelley Edds, or any of the chairpersons.
Enjoy the summer,
Tabatha Reeves
